Salt was a great part of history, as it was use for trade and would determine a countries economic status. Salt roads, was a major route of commerce in Antiquity. Salt would be carried from originating countries to areas that did not have access to this commodity. Used as currency for tax paying and salary, salt was a big part of China and Europe’s history.
In the 1930’s, the Salt Market was initiated by Gandhi to protest against Britain’s control over the salt. This was an important part of India’s fight for Independence.
