Named originally the “Sultan’s raisin”, this variety is particularly appreciated for its light golden colour as well as its delicate aromatic flavour. Excellent source of manganese and flavonoids, this sumptuous raisin helps protect against free radicals and strengthens the immune system.

Raisins can be added to you cakes, muffins, trail mix as well as tagines, salads and couscous. Rehydrate your raisins by adding them to your salad dressing or marinade.

The cultivation of the domesticated grape began 6,000 to 8,000 BC in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Grapes are first spread to Africa along the Nile River near the Mediterranean, during Antiquity. It then spread to northern Europe, Switzerland and Germany. It was only 600 BC that Phocaeans, during Marseilles creation, brought vines to France.

Raisins are a classic choice for any time you crave a snack. They are delicious whether they are eaten alone or thrown together in a mix of nuts, seeds and other dried fruits. Raisins are also a key ingredient in a bunch of recipes such as those for breads, pastries, salads or couscous – just use your imagination!
