The pistachio tree is native to Central Asia but it was the Romans who introduced it to Europe in the 1st century. Wild pistachio trees still grow in the North-East corner of Iran and Afghanistan.

Culinary Uses

Raw or roasted, pistachios can be enjoyed in sweet and salty recipes. Add them to puddings, stuffings, veggie paté, pastries, curries and even tagines!


Can be preserved in a cool, dry cupboard, protected from light and humidity for up to 10 months and up to 12 months, if stored in the refrigerator.
