Organic Golden Flax Seeds
Organic golden flax seeds. May contain sesame, nuts and soy.
The use of wild flax as a textile dates back to the Upper Paleolithic era, some 30,000 years ago! It was first domesticated in the Fertile Crescent region of the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, Mesopotamia and the Nile Valley, but quickly spread as far as Germany, Switzerland, China and India. Flax production declined along with the Roman Empire, but it was revived by Charlemagne in the 8th century thanks to laws publicizing the hygiene of linen textiles and the health benefits of flaxseed oil.
We recommend you grind your flax seeds into a powder to make them easier to digest and get the most benefits out of them. Beware, however: they only keep for a maximum of two weeks once they've been ground, whereas whole seeds can keep up to 8 months in an airtight container in the fridge.

Flax seeds are very fragile! They should always be kept in the fridge when whole and should only be ground as needed. Whole flax seeds will keep for eight months in the fridge, but once ground, they will keep for only 2 weeks in the fridge, or 1 month in the freezer.
