Almond butter, orange and chia cookies

Servings 12 small cookies or 7-8 big cookies
These nutritious cookies have a delicate orange and almond flavour, go wonderfully well with your afternoon coffee, fills all your mid-morning cravings and can even make a great on-the-go breakfast!

How it's made


  • 1 ripe banana or 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • the juice of half an orange
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chunks
  • a pinch of salt


  1. Preheat oven to 375° C.
  2. In a bowl, mash the banana with a fork. Add almond butter, maple syrup, orange juice and chia. Mix until smooth and rest for 5-10 minutes.

  4. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mix well, and stir in chocolate chunks.
  5. Drop generous spoonfuls of the batter on a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper, allowing for enough space between each one.
  6. Bake for 15-16 minutes, until the cookies are nice and golden.
