Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Servings 15 biscuits
When it comes to making healthy vegan snacks, it's always nice to keep our furry companions in mind who love these treats as much as we do! Dogs love biscuits, but it can be challenging sometimes to find good biscuits that are rich in nutrients. More and more we are seeing dog owners who are willing to add whole, fresh foods to their pets diet, substituting high-calorie, lower quality treats for the benefits and nutrients of fruits and veggies. Sweet potatoes are especially nutritious, and are great for adding fiber to your doggies diet!

How It's Made

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup of cubed sweet potato
  • 1 banana
  • 1 1/2 cup of coconut flour or whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup of instant oatmeal
  • 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds
  • 3 tablespoons of peanut butter (or almond butter)
  • Fresh parsely, to taste

Directions

  1. Cook the diced sweet potatoes in boiling water until they are tender. Let cool a few minutes then mash with the banana.
  2. Add peanut butter, oats, sunflower seeds and flour gradually to the sweet potato and banana. Mix and form a ball.
  3. On a floured surface, roll the dough into biscuits using cookie cutter of your choice or simply forming biscuits by hand. The dough will be slightly sticky, so add a little flour to spread it if necessary.
  4. Place cookies on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and bake for 25 minutes at 360°F. Let cool.
  5. The cookies will keep several days in an airtight container.
