Green tea chia lemonade with raspberries

Have you tried chia lemonade yet? It's a great way to incorporate chia into your daily diet and a fun alternative to store-bought drinks, which are often too often. With a base of green tea, raspberries and lemon, this recipe will appeal to both kids and adults - with the chia seeds, it has an almost bubble tea-like texture. How it's made



  1. In a mason jar, mix 2 cups of water with 5 tablespoons of chia seeds. Let set for 30 minutes, shaking regularly so the seeds don't stick to the bottom of the jar. The chia gel will get nice and thick. Set aside.
  2. Steep 2 green tea bags in 2 cups of cold water. Set aside.
  3. While the tea steeps, combine the raspberries with 1/3 cup of water. Heat in a saucepan over medium heat until the raspberries turn into a purée. Press through a sieve to get the raspberry juice out (you can keep the pulp to use in smoothies, muffins, or cakes).
  4. Let cool for several minutes and add the green tea, lemon juice and agave syrup (or the maple syrup).
  5. In a pitcher or large mason jar, combine the raspberry-green tea mix with the chia gel. Stir well, or shake vigourously if you're using a mason jar. Add ice cubes and put in the fridge for an hour. Stir again before serving.
  6. The lemonade will keep for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
