Blueberry and Raspberry Buckwheat Cream

If you're sick of smoothies, but want the energy and nutrients they usually pack in, try this. You'll have to soak your buckwheat overnight, but then you simply follow the instructions and add your favourite fruits! Buckwheat is a nutritious grain that well give you plenty of fuel for your day.

How It's Made


  • 1 cup of buckwheat
  • 1/2 cup of fresh or frozen rasberries
  • 1/2 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup to 1 cup of almond milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground vanilla or vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
  • 1 cup of topping of your choice (small berries, chopped nuts, goji berries, granola...)


  1. Soak the buckwheat in a large quantity of water over night. In the morning, rinse and drain.
  2. In a high speed blender, mix together the buckwheat, fruits, almond milk, vanilla and maple syrup until smooth, about 45 seconds to 1 minute. Adjust flavour to taste.
  3. Pour into bowls and sprinkle with berries, chopped nuts, and goji berries.
