Avocado sashimi with crunchy almond salsa

The title of this recipe may sound exotic, but avocado sashimi to us is just another creative way to serve fresh, ripe avocado. Here, thin slices of avocado are topped with a crunchy salsa made with soaked almonds. Drizzled with olive oil, dusted with sea salt and fresh ground pepper, and served with a slice of lemon, this dish is delicious and easy to prepare. Serve it family-style, as part of a Mediterranean mezze, and watch it disappear from the table in no time!

How It's Made


  • 4 ripe avocados
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • Sea salt and ground pepper
  • 1 cup of cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup of
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 2 green onions
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Sea salt and ground pepper


  1. Soak the almonds in water overnight. Drain, peel, and coarsely chop them.
  2. Cut the cherry tomatoes in 4, mince the garlic, and finely chop the green onion. In a bowl, mix these ingredients together with the soaked almonds, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Thinly slice the avocados and arrange them nicely on a platter. Mix the remaining tablespoon of olive oil with the lemon juice and drizzle it over the avocado. Season with salt and pepper. 
  4. Spoon the almond salsa over the avocado. Serve and enjoy!
